COUNTR people counting emerged from its beginnings in Hungary and has since expanded its operations to the United States, marking a significant milestone in our journey. Our roots trace back to Budapest, where our innovative solution was developed by our machine vision experts, and now we’re making strides in the US market. We are actively establishing our presence in the United States through company incorporation, heralding a new era of growth and opportunity.

Since the launch of COUNTR’s new version in late 2013, our solution has garnered attention and interest, showcased at the All About Malls conference. With a focus on continuous product development, we have earned the trust of several major business centers, who have chosen COUNTR’s visitor counting system for its accuracy and reliability. Currently, our systems measure over 100 crossing points, tallying more than 60,000 daily visitors.

Additionally, we are seeking strategic business partners who can help distribute and market our visitor counting solution, contributing to our expansion and success in the United States, European Union, and the rest of the world.

Which technology is the most effective?

COUNTR vs.

Laser gates based on discontinuity
Laser gates based on discontinuity can be easily circumvented at nightclubs, and they often fail to provide accurate data in shopping malls, especially when multiple people pass through the gates simultaneously. In contrast, COUNTR provides precise data regardless of individuals’ height, even in crowded environments, and it can accurately count visitors with strollers.
Wifi based counters
Initially, WiFi-based counters may seem like a viable option for determining foot traffic based on the number of mobile phones present. However, these solutions encounter several challenges. Firstly, they rely on mobile phones having their WiFi service enabled, which is not always the case for most users. Secondly, one individual may possess multiple mobile phones, while another may not have any. COUNTR, on the other hand, accurately counts individuals in all scenarios, as its algorithm focuses on identifying human shapes.
Heat detection systems
Heat detection systems, boasting an accuracy rate of over 80%, are widely used. However, this accuracy can be compromised by various factors. Heat camera solutions, for instance, cannot be deployed in spaces with a ceiling height of less than three meters, and they are susceptible to weather conditions, air curtains, and air conditioners. Additionally, their narrow field of view necessitates costly field surveys before installation. In contrast, COUNTR offers a broader field of view, is unaffected by temperature fluctuations, and infrared-based models provide accurate data even in low-light conditions.
